Color Palette in Mediterranean Interior Design

Elif Nur Arslan·August 2024·4 min read

The colors of the Mediterranean come from nature. The white where sunlight refracts, the earth in the depths of the soil, the scale of blues that change with the depth of the sea...

Using these colors correctly in interior spaces allows the space to "breathe." The two primary colors we most often rely on in our Bodrum projects: whitewash white and earthy beige. These two tones add breadth and warmth to a space.

As accent colors, we use sea blue, olive green and terracotta orange tones in careful doses. We always prefer to work with a single accent color; more than one strong accent color weighs down a space.

Material selection is as important as color. Raw linen, natural wood, rattan and stone organically enrich the color palette of a space with their natural pigments. When selecting these materials, there's always one question at the back of our mind: Will this object still look beautiful in 20 years?
